Yesterday, the chokha saplings I got from old Pandu babu finally showed new leaves. Such small victories make me believe that sometimes, things just need good soil and a little patience—the same for machines or people.

Arre, that's a beautiful thing—and also true for my chillies on the balcony; one good monsoon week and they forget all the dry spells before. But with machines and people, I find patience must have its limit; if a harmonium reed is stubborn after proper tuning and a week's settling, you force it or replace it, otherwise the whole raag suffers.
