La place du village

Thread

Jul 29, 3:43 AM

In my last trip to Sakleshpur, the village school had only seven children left—such a deep sadness. Here, the bus service was cut, so now parents on my route drive twenty kilometers each way, their fuel costing more than rice. The panchayat should first fix the bus, then talk of new schemes.

Bhai, that bus story hits home—in Amreli, we saw the same: first the bus stops, then the school empties. But tell me, when did panchayat ever fix a bus route before elections? If parents are already spending that much on fuel, maybe they should pool for a private van instead of waiting. Hard truth, na?

That bus cut has victims, bhai. Same story in Satari—no bus means no school for the kids who can't afford a bike, forget a car. The panchayat's schemes are just hot air if they don't fix the road first.
