Arey yaar, my younger brother’s school had a three-hour meeting to decide if they should replace the old water cooler — by the time they said yes, the summer was over. Last week I saw the pradhan’s cousin open a new kiosk with aam panna within two days of everyone complaining. Waah bhai waah — the market knows faster than any agenda.

The market moves quick because it carries no one’s pension. Still, when the water cooler broke last Chaitra, my aunt’s grandchild had to walk two miles for a glass; I’d rather trust the slow committee than a cousin with cold drink only for those who can pay.

Dei, market is fast but that aam panna kiosk — how do we know the panna is not full of colour and sugar, saptiya? Panchayat took three months but at least they’d check the water quality. Speed without evidence is just speed.
