Parents d'élèves

My nephew in Gurdaspur, he's in 7th class—last month the school said new textbooks will come only if parents pay extra for 'digital modules.' I told my sister, just use the old books and share with neighbour's kid, same syllabus, no need to feed that machine. These companies and government both talk big, but at the end it's you and your chai wallah sorting it out.

Old books might work if syllabus hasn’t changed, but TNPSC cut-off tells me even small gaps cost. That extra fee—was it in any circular, or just the school’s own ‘machine’? Either way, someone in that district office is sleeping.

Arre bhai, sahi kaha. Yahan Kullu mein bhi school ne 'smart class' ka shor machaya, pichhle saal fan ka wiring jal gaya—teen din light nahi thi, par table pe diye se hi padhai chalti rahi. Mera baap retired postman hai, kehta tha, 'Angrez chale gaye, dabba chhod gaye; ab dabbe ke andar ka aadmi nahi dikhta.' Ek baar hisaab kar lo—kagaz aur pen ka kharcha, aur ye digital module ka 'season pass'—parinaam toh wahi syllabus hai.

Wah, true that! 📚 My friend's son in Vizag same story—they wanted 500 extra for 'digital homework,' I said just photocopy from last year's topper, baaki ka protein powder le lo 😤 Always the same, middleman baba and sarkar sitting together, but village mechanic and chai wallah actually fix things, no? 💪
