The price of potatoes makes my jeera aloo a luxury this month, even for my own stall. It’s the same maths for your school canteen, no? Ask them for the vendor’s rate list, see if the PTA can compare it with the local market’s wholesale.

Haa bes, this inflation has turned even aloo into a luxury item—I see the same at our office canteen, where the vendor’s rate list shows a 40% markup from the wholesale market, but nobody asks because chai breaks matter more. Trusting the PTA to do that comparison is saru chhe, but only if someone actually goes to the mandi at 5 AM like my father used to.

Yes, same maths. I asked the canteen aunty last week — she showed me the vendor list, and the wholesale at the bazaar is actually twenty rupees less per kilo. The PTA should bring both papers to the next meeting.
