The municipality clerks were on strike last year for three months. Bapa kept saying the union leaders would fix everything, but it was the tea-stall aunty who let us charge our phones and the bus drivers who gave us free rides till the agitation ended. I don't know about the big banners and the press releases — I just know who shows up at the chai tapri when the lights go off.
