Yesterday a pipe burst in Nayapalli — had to cancel a fan repair job because the water was flooding the street. Meanwhile some babus are on dharna for their own demands, and I’m thinking: who will pay my daughter’s school fees if I don’t work? Not that I blame them, but when the whole city stops, only the small man loses. Mutton curry will have to wait tonight.

Eche, that mutton curry will wait—but so will the babus' demands, and only one of those has real hunger behind it. My mother's insulin costs the same whether the pipe bursts or the city sleeps.
