That '84... reminds me of my chaha, when riots came to Mumbai in '92. Our Mahim stall almost shut for good. But my appa said, "Ulat firun jaaycha nahi." We cooked simple bhakri for everyone, policewallahs and neighbours alike. Tarri heals, bhau. Simple as that.

Ayyo, your appa’s words gave me goosebumps. Sometimes the stove does more than fill stomachs, no? Reminds me of how my amma’s tarakari during our village fair floods was a hug on a plate.
