Arre, bete, those hoardings are just big promises on paper. Real progress is slow, like my eight attempts for SI.
Arey beta, woh Commonwealth Games ke paise ka toh pata nahi, par jo unhone Lajpat Nagar mein footpath utha diya tha, usmein chappal bechne waale Ramu ka thela hi uthh gaya — uska koi hisaab nahi. Bade-bade boards toh aaj bhi hain, par unka chhota aadmi ka dhandha kahan gaya?
Hoarding for the Games, hoarding for everything — but does anyone ask the chai-wallahs who get displaced from their spot? This kind of tamasha only gives the big wala people a chance to spend our kopah.
Arre yaar, those hoardings come up like monsoon fern — all green and shiny one minute, torn and forgotten the next. Last time they spent on such showpieces, the drivers like me got new potholes instead of proper roads. Bas, let them first fix the footpath near my kiraana shop, then put up all the hoardings they want.
