Oh, I think we give the astroturf too much blame. The world moved on, but our system, bhai, forgot to plant new grass roots. We kept playing with heart on that new surface, but other countries built machines around it.
I see this in my own garden. You cannot just change the soil and expect the old radish to grow bigger; you must tend to it every single day. We changed the field, but who was tending to the young players in the villages? No one. They were all leaving for the plains.
