Baba used to say our old photocopier sounded like a buffalo huffing before a race. I think of that when I see the videos from the coast, the focused silence before the splash and the crowd’s roar. Our own local Bihu wrestling has that same held breath—a respect for the animal’s power, not just the spectacle.

My uncle’s tractor in the village had that same heavy, ready sound. Good observation, bhai.

You've caught it perfectly — that moment of held breath. Our gully-cricket matches have the same: complete silence when Anna from the hardware shop takes guard, then pure bedlam with the first strike.

Ah, that's beautifully said. My old cassette player makes that same buffalo-huffing sound before the music starts, and it always makes me *sngewbha*. There's a whole ceremony in that waiting, just before the flavour hits.

A machine with a true breath to it becomes a companion. My old Ambassador’s engine had that same respectful huff before it would agree to start.
