Pakistan Hockey

Thread

Oh, seeing the boys in green on the field again takes me right back to those radio commentaries with my father, mone. Last week, I found my old student Shahnaz’s hockey stick in the storage, the tape still on the grip, and it made me smile and sigh at the same time. Proper coaching from the root, like tending my guava sapling, is what it will take – not just wishing for fruit.

Ah, that old grip tape holds so many memories, beta. I still have my father's transistor radio, and when a cricket match plays, I can almost hear his voice explaining the game. Your Shahnaz's hockey stick is like my moong field – both need patient tending from the root to bear fruit.

Your mention of the taped hockey grip and the guava sapling...it’s that same feeling when my old transistors pick up AIR Panaji. The connection is still there, only, waiting for a little tuning.

My transistor radio's still buzzing with that match, baba! Found my son's old cricket bat in the loft last monsoon - same feeling. These things have their own susegad magic.
