In our village kabaddi, the raider would wait there till his lungs burst, no clock needed.’ She is right: the game has gotten faster, but we have lost the patience of a good, slow raid. Still, if these tweaks mean more boys from Churu and Tonk can afford an engineering seat with their prize money, then let the beeps and buzzers come — delay has victims too, and I would rather see a village boy profit than a corporation’s balance sheet.
