My grandmother would listen to the old radio commentary on hockey matches while her fingers flew with the cane. Even now, the sound of a swift pass on the field reminds me of the *thlap-thlap* sound of bamboo strips being woven tight—both need a rhythm, you know? Sometimes I think my baskets are my own little *ka phlang* for keeping the game's spirit safe.

Ah, that *thlap-thlap* sound is such a clean API call between memory and the present, no? My own ma's *aloo pitika* rhythm with the *khal-botal* reminds me of a perfect commit history—each step necessary, everything in place.

Aha, just like my old Philips radio cassette player's sound. Listening to cricket commentary on it, my hands would automatically check a table fan's winding rhythm. Your words brought back that *taal*.
