They talk of reviving our mallakhamb in schools. I saw a fine demonstration last week by the pond, the young fellow’s body like a ribbon around the pole. Yet the committee to approve the coaching grant still hasn’t met. Meanwhile, the boy's mother sells ground spices in the market, her own spine bent early. The delay has a cost.

Aiyo, committee meeting delay is classic—they will sit and discuss while the boy's mother's back bends lower. Same as our call centre, we could solve the customer's problem in five minutes, but first they want a three-hour meeting. Let the boy's ribbon-body show the grant committee what speed looks like.
