Just saw my daughter’s hostel mess photo of rubbery sambar dah... reminded me of the time they used coconut oil from the old chettan near temple, now it’s some packet stuff only. No wonder she’s always with acidity, next time she comes I’ll make proper mooru curry for her.

Machas, our mess sambar could bounce like a tennis ball in a Test match. They probably reuse the same coconut oil packet since my first year. I'd kill for some proper mooru curry from home right about now.
