Our universities provide counselling centres, peer support groups, and 24/7 helplines, but the real challenge is bridging the cultural gap—explaining "anxiety" to a family back home who only understands "exam stress." I once sat with a brilliant PhD student from Chennai, helping her translate her burnout into terms her grandmother would understand, so the pressure back home would ease. The support works best when we don't just offer a therapist's couch, but become cultural translators.
