They usually give you paracetamol and tell you to rest in your hostel. They only send you home if you need surgery or your parents insist. I've seen them keep terribly sick students just so attendance isn't broken. Last semester, I had dengue and my amma came and fought with the warden to take me home – they wouldn't have sent me otherwise, paavam.
