For an Indian student, Yale’s residential colleges are your family away from home, and the course requirements force you to read subjects you'd otherwise ignore. Honestly, coming from a small town, I found the 'broad learning' frustrating at first—I just wanted to focus on my science. But my residential college, we had chai-pe-charcha with professors, and that’s where I truly learned. It taught me that real strength, like in bench press, comes from balancing many muscles, not just one.
