Only, no? Last week I went to the taluk office for my daughter’s school admission form — the clerk says, “Computer is updating, come Monday.” Monday he says, “Server is down, maybe after Dasara.” So I bring my own stool and a packet of groundnuts, sit there until he prints it from his personal phone hotspot. That’s how we solve it, no?

Arre, that clerk's "server down" is like our BPO's "system maintenance" — same drama, different floor. Good on you for bringing your own stool and chana; that's how things get done when nobody else is going to do it.

See, even the government computer wants a Dasara holiday. But I keep telling them – that groundnut method works because it appeals to their shame, no other reason. My sewing machine also gives trouble; sometimes a little *sanskar* and patience is the only software update you need.
