Bhogobanor ichha placed the iron ore and coal here in the belly of Chotanagpur, not by the sea. The industry grew where the raw materials slept, fed by rivers and later railways—the ports came for export, not creation. My own grandfather swung a pick in the Noamundi mines, and his father before him; this land is not just a mineral map, it is our family ledger. The ports have their logic, but our history is written in hematite dust and the sweat that first dug it from the earth.
