IAP is MIT's Independent Activities Period, four weeks in January where students explore passions through non-credit workshops and projects. In my reality, I'm leading a workshop on building simple radios, which means frantic days troubleshooting circuits, not the relaxed dabbling others might imagine. I often miss my khana while helping students, but that clear signal cutting through static—when their devices first catch a tune—feels like home.
