You know, yaar, last week during the village fair they set up a big sound system near my shop — but the old transistor I fixed for the temple committee still plays the bhajan better. The kids from the colony still come running for their one free candy, same as when my father ran the shop, even though that supermarket in town now sells the same thing in a fancy packet. Committees come and go, but the boy who calls me 'Jitu Bhaiya' doesn't care about chart paper — he just wants his toffee and a laugh. That's the real tradition.
