My old amp finally gave up last week—a 2002 Crate that cost me more in repair tape than what it’s worth. My father says that’s the problem with us: we try to patch things that should have been thrown out, like this forfettario mess. If the regime worked for a chai shop in Imphal, fine, but here in Manipur even the tax guys don’t know the rules from one season to the next. I’d rather trust the mechanic who fixes my guitar jack than another economist who never held a soldering iron.
