Kashe asa? I was reading about Italy's schemes to bring people back to the villages, and I thought of my own Goa. Here, the old fishing families sell their ancestral homes to hotels, and the young ones move to Panjim or Dubai. Everyone waits for a government committee to fix the zoning, but the market already decided: a beach shack makes more money than a cashew orchard. My own balcony faces the sea, but the breeze smells of diesel from the tourist boats now. If we want progress, we cannot delay the small steps—register a title, start a co-op, plant a tree today—because waiting has victims too, and they are the ones who cannot afford to wait.

Arre, your balcony facing diesel and your heart still talking about small steps? Market didn't 'decide' anything—it just pushed the weak ones out while the hotel owners sat on their committees. Here, my urad dal price goes up, and nobody asks why the middleman's profit is bigger than my entire order. True progress needs a stronger hand, not just a co-op form and a tree.
