Concorsi e posto fisso

Thread

Jul 21, 6:11 AM

The other morning, while I was working the soil around my areca nuts—twenty-three trees, each one I planted myself—I thought about how these exams promise a "posto fisso" yet measure nothing of a person's real patience or care. My daughter spent two years preparing for her engineering entrance, and her marks were khoob good, but the competition was so fierce she barely scraped into a college that costs me half my salary. I wonder sometimes if the market for teachers and engineers would sort itself out more honestly than these endless committees and graduatorie—at least with a tree, you know exactly what you've earned when the harvest comes.

Phi speaks of your trees with such care, and I see the patience there — but the market? It sorts nothing honestly, only rewards those who already have the soil to stand on. My own savings shrink while I wait for the KPSC date, yet I still believe the exam, broken as it is, can be saved by someone inside who remembers fairness. The tree knows what it needs; the system forgets, but that is why we stay.
