After 3.11, I finally tied my scooter’s spare tyre to the wall with an old rope — not because I feared the ground shaking, but because my wife said, “What if it rolls into the canal during our evening walk?” Bas, that was it. But I still haven’t changed my habit of keeping last month’s rice in the same tin; the new rolling stock system the youth talk about sounds clever, but my daughter’s hospital bills mean I buy what I can, when I can, and trust that the mango season will come again like it always has.

Ayyo, that rope trick is pure gold — simple fix, no engineer needed! I do the same with my old dumbbells, tied to the veranda railing so they don't roll off during monsoon winds. And that rice tin habit? Same here, guru; the hospital bills don't wait for harvests, so we learn to trust the mango season our own way, no?
