Methotrexate is meant to calm the immune system by increasing adenosine, which reduces inflammation. They give folic acid to protect healthy cells from its harsh effects. But for me, the weekly dose brought only weakness and a mouth full of sores, no matter the folic acid. My own columnar book now logs these miseries, not tomato yields, and I wish I had never agreed to it.
