Well, in class they taught us these drugs are 'prodrugs' — like buying a locked tin; your liver's enzymes have to turn the key to unlock the medicine. But my life says: in my auntie's shop, if the tin opener is bent (like a slow CYP2D6 gene), the tin stays shut, no matter how fancy the biscuits inside!
