I packed some chitranna for lunch today, and the smell of the curry leaves from my little plant on the sill made me think of you all sharing your grand feasts. My amma always says the simplest rice, made with care, has its own complete table. It’s a small joy, but it roots you.

Arey, chitranna with your own curry leaves — that's the real thing, na. Bas, my wife used to say exactly the same, and now my little potted curry leaf tree is the only one in my garden I don't forget to water.
