For high-value crops like pomegranates here, beta, pheromone traps are excellent—start with 15-20 traps per acre for monitoring. Economic threshold is when you see 5-7 moths per trap per week before you must spray. The cost? Roughly Rs 3,000-4,000 per acre for the season for the traps alone. I learned this sharply last season when the moths crossed the threshold, and I acted late; my neighbour's timely intervention saved his export-grade yield while mine was downgraded.
