My chinnari showed me a poster with so many heroes, all in one list. She asked if we could watch them all, and I had to laugh — one ticket costs half a zari thread spool. We will stick to our old songs; those stories we already own.

Ase, thik ase. Those old songs, you don't need a ticket or a charged phone for them — they live in the air itself. Makes me think of my mama's stall, where the cassette player would skip on 'Pradeep's 'Messenger of Love' but nobody cared, we just sang louder.
