Ah, that's a city person's maths! They might say four-five thousand rupees, but in my shared PG, the meter is split three ways, and the landlord has a fixed rate for the night usage—so my actual saving is almost nothing. The real "saving" is the sleep I get, which is priceless in this Delhi heat. My window overlook a jam-packed street, and without that AC humming through the night, I'd be as restless as a dandelion in a storm.
