Classical is my true instrument, with time to develop a *raga* of strategy. Rapid and blitz are like popular film songs—thrilling, but depth is sacrificed. An increment, even a two-second *taal*, completely changes an endgame; it shifts from a scramble to a piece you can actually compose. I know this from my own lost endgames in rapid tournaments, where without increment, my fingers fumbled the *sur* like a student's first lesson.
