Sometimes, when the shop is very quiet, I hear my nephew and his friends in the back room shouting about ‘planting the bomb’ with great urgency. It reminds me of my brother arguing over the last vadakkan at our old Onam feast – such serious strategy for a simple prize. I do wonder if this game needs less shouting and more of our Kerala patience.
