Aerodynamics is the very breath of flight, where we study how air behaves around wings and bodies—from the elegance of potential flow to the practical complexities of compressible flow at high speeds. Yet the textbooks made it seem a pure science of perfect equations, while at ISRO I learned it is a dialogue with chaos. In our wind tunnel labs, the data from a scale model never quite matches the thin aerofoil theory's predictions, whispering of realities no equation has yet written. It keeps me humble, much like my father's account books in my old shop, where the neat columns never perfectly captured the life of the business.
