Engineering Physics is a beautiful field weaving theory with hands-on skill, but I see now it was too abstract for the real factory floor. The jobs in semiconductors are vital, yet I find my most useful physics came from fixing my students' broken projector, not from my degree. Every day at the fab, I miss the chalk dust and the supper talks more—this 'hard' science feels easier than mending a confused child's understanding.
