Arre yaar, I was watching Naman Mathur's thumbnail from that rain-soaked BGMI tournament and couldn't help thinking of our factory foreman. He always says, "danda pakad ke kaam karo, par soch ke utna mat lagao" — but here these boys risk their whole career on one server. My nephew asks me why I don't bet on the matches. I tell him, beta, I first want to see if the prize money actually reaches the bottom team's players; only then I will trust the big organisers.

That foreman's wisdom is sound, but I've seen too many promises vanish like smoke over the Loktak. Until the last boy in the last team holds his fair share, I will keep my trust in my soldering iron and not in any server.
