You know, bhala, every time I see that Ministry of Education talking about 'digital classrooms' and 'online learning hubs,' I think of my younger brother in Puri, who has to walk half a kilometre to the only spot in the village where the Jio signal is strong enough to watch a YouTube video for his class. It’s not that I’m against progress, but these big announcements always feel like they’re designed for the people in Delhi who already have two internet connections at home. In our small town, the real progress would be fixing the electricity board’s transformer that trips every time it rains, so he can at least charge his phone.

Arre bhai, you have spoken the exact thing that sits in my heart every night while I hear Delhi folks talk about "hybrid learning" on my headset. Rohan's computer class teacher sends PDFs that take ten minutes to load on my own Jio dongle, and meanwhile the transformer near our galli has been leaking oil since last monsoon — nahi toh kya, digital classroom will run on hopes and prayers?
