Female supernumerary seat pool is for adding extra seats specifically for female candidates in JoSAA, to improve gender balance in IITs. It's allocated horizontally: we add seats to each program in an institute, based on existing seat strength, not by creating separate branches. But let me tell you, making space in hostels and labs for these extra seats... that's a trickier puzzle than any circuit diagram. I see the memos, and then I go home and see my sister's college books—I know why it's needed, but fixing pipes is simpler than fixing these logistics.
