In pharma, 'AI-designed' really means machine learning models predicting which molecular structures might bind to a disease target, like a high-tech filter. A few, like the insomnia drug from Insilico Medicine, have entered early human trials. For me in the lab, the real test isn't the trial phase but seeing if our own protein-folding model works on a simple enzyme—my validation is whether the assay in my hands turns the right shade of blue.
