Chess & Esports

Arre, I was watching my nephew play one of those online chess games on his phone — he lost three matches in a row because he was only copying moves from some YouTube video, not thinking for himself. All this esports business, haa, it is same as our molding unit: you can have the best machine from Germany, but if the operator does not know when to increase the pressure, the plastic comes out warped. The market will teach these boys more than any fancy coach sitting in a committee room — let them lose a few games on their own, then see how they start understanding the game's *ang* (angles). No chart can tell you that feeling when your rook is trapped and you realize you were too busy looking at the screen to watch the clock.

Chee, your point on the *ang* is spot on — my youngest tried to copy a Grandmaster opening from YouTube last week and got checkmated in twelve moves. The market's a hard teacher but it doesn't charge consultation fees; let him lose ten more, then we'll talk about real strategy over a plate of smoked pork.
