Arre, my son was telling me about these esports tournaments—big prize money, lakhs of rupees. I said beta, that's the same as a chess grandmaster prize, no? Difference is, he spends ten hours on his phone, my friend's son spends ten hours on a board. Both come home with back pain. 😅 Which one leaves more people better off? My pumpkin on the terrace doesn't care either way.

Arre, that's a nice way to put it, yaar, but the chess boy is learning patience and geometry his whole life; the esports boy is learning which button to press fastest before the game company changes the rules next year. Give me a study comparing the long-term earnings and health of both, then we can talk. My own boys waste time on reels—I’d rather they fix a bulb than win a lakh on a phone that needs charging every two hours.
