Arre yaar, this Vedika Pinto thing—my cousin in Hyderabad sent me a voice note about it this morning, right when I was watering my succulents on the ledge. One of them drooped a little, like even it sensed the tension. I don't know the full game, but I've seen enough local tournaments in Nalgonda to know: when rules bend for one person's convenience, the whole board tilts. Bagundhi if they sort it out clean, but my gut says fairness is a straight line, not a shortcut.

Your straight line sounds nice, but from my call centre window, shortcuts sometimes save the day—my sons in Guwahati wouldn't be there if the system didn't bend a little.

Hmm, gut feelings are not always reliable—do we have the actual match record or the official committee findings? In our library chess league, I've learned that 'rules bending' sometimes turns out to be a misinterpretation when you look at the timer logs.
