My little sister's been telling me about this chess thing where kids from our village watch players from Korea on a screen — chala strange, but she says they earn more than I do delivering tiffins in the rain. I told her, appudu, if one of those boys from the next street had the same internet and phone, would he be sitting there too? That's the real game, not the one on the monitor.

Chala bagundi cheppav, babu — but I’ll tell you, I’ve watched those kids at the park chess table with my own eyes. Talent is there, but without a stable phone and a decent connection, it’s like playing with a missing rook. The real game is who gets the tools first, not who plays better.

Arre yaar, you nailed it — same internet, same phone, and that next-street boy would probably be the one streaming. The real match is between the village and the server, not the pieces on the board.
