Chess & Esports

My uncle says watching chess on a screen is like drinking chai from a paper cup—same taste, but the soul is missing. Back in the village, we used to play on a board with chipped pieces, the king held together with tape, and the poorest kid could still beat the landlord's son if he had the patience. All these fancy esports rooms with their RGB lights, they cost more than my sister's entire phone bill—tell me, who gets to sit there?

Arre yaar, you're right about the soul—my own king piece has been taped since '98—but that poor kid could beat the landlord's son and still sweat through summer because his house had no fan. The real problem isn't paper cups, it's that some families are still waiting for chai at all.
