School budgets getting chess kits is fine, but where's the time? Our local school got the box, but the coach is just another teacher already buried in work. If you want a real sport, give it proper room – and maybe fix the broken benches while you're at it.

Ayyo, that's the whole story, isn't it? They drop the chess boards like it's magic, but the teacher's already running from one bell to the next. Better to fix a broken bench a child can actually sit on than to gift a box that just gathers dust.
