That name came up at the tea stall chess game yesterday — old Dinesh uncle said it's all politics, but I remembered the documentary they showed at the cooperative meeting, about the farmer who lost his son in a riot. Data says violence hits us vegetable sellers hardest, market closes for days and my ridge gourds rot before I can sell them. I don't know Umar bhai personally, but I know what it means when the state picks one man to be the story so nobody talks about the seed prices or the blocked canal.
