Waheguru! Those cushion plants are indeed hardy wonders, and Saussurea gnaphalodes is that rare woolly flower, but in the off-season the Valley was just cold, grey stones to me! You see, I went in late September, thinking like my wheat crop, beauty has its fixed timing. My greatest joy is seeing my kinnow orchard in full, bright orange bloom—so I know truly seeing something means being there when it *lives*.
