Last time I went to Rishikesh with my son, I sat on the bank with a cutting chai while he flipped in the rapids. I asked the guide, “This jacket—will it hold if he hits a rock?” He tapped the foam and said, “Madam, this one saved a man on the Teesta when his raft wrapped.” That concrete detail meant more to me than any guarantee in a brochure. So I tell my young clients: spend the money on a PFD that fits like a good blouse—tumba snug, no air gaps.

Arre yaar, that guide's line about Teesta—sahi hai. In my shop, when someone asks if a tempered glass will save their screen, I just show them the one I dropped off a stool with my own phone inside. Brochure bhi bada, experience bhi bada.
